Ahneen , my name is Shontel Michuad, Bear Clan from the Leech Lake Ojibwe I am currently working on a program with KOJB Radio. Hosting 52 programs and chatting on Traditional Medicinal Plants and the healing affects from our Ancestors teachings. Our program will include teas, herbal remedies, how to make suave & oils, covering topics on ailments and the plants to use. Also, with great respect and many blesses, I will be including interviews with elder Band members from several different tribes and their knowledge passed down from the ancestors. Enjoy and listen in to our program we offer some fun healthy tips using our traditional plants.
As my bio goes I have recently moved to Leech and now live closer to my father. Earlier in the spring of 2012 I was involved with the ‘women’s expo at Northern Lights offering therapy treatments and ojibwe suave. This past summer I worked at several of the Anderson Resorts, assisting guests with massage therapy, muscular ojibwe herbal treatments and Reiki Sessions with wonderful success. And this fall the radio program. I look forward to being involved with the community, meeting the locals and offering the teachings I know and helping others find success in a healthy balanced life style as our ancestors with nature, exercise, diet, visualization, meditation and healing from the inside.
I moved here from mpls where I owned a Deep tissue Sports therapy office located in busy uptown, mpls on lyndale ave. I had completed the school for therapy and opened my business 8 years ago. Prior to my life in therapy, I have a long history of working with the physically and mentally challenged. Writing programs, Training staff and running IHP Meetings. I loved the ppl I have worked with and feel blessed for the opportunity of the trainings and experiences. My community involvement has included speaking conferences on healthy living, plants and medicinal healing, chair massage with schools, business’ & conferences, health fairs, powwow vending, therapy fund raisings events, Pr health tips & living balanced with nature on various internet social networks. Staying active mentally and physically is best for your body. Best wishes and enjoy our Traditional Plants program on Kojb, with much thanks to the community service and equipment grant and community radio grant from the arts and cultural heritage fund for providing our program for you.
